The Warwickshire Local Studies Toolkit was developed as part of the Extracting Warwickshire's Past project to provide users with guidance about how to undertake research into the history and heritage of their local area.  It is specifically aimed at those who have little, or no, experience of undertaking personal research and who feel they need some support and advice.

The toolkit was created with the support of a number of experts from the County, including Historic Environment Record staff, Local Studies Librarians, and County Record Office archivists.  Within the toolkit there is information on key primary and secondary sources including a description of each, their main uses and where each is likely to be found. The toolkit also includes information sheets on the use of maps and care for historic documents and objects, as well as information on who to contact for further help and advice.
