Building Recording Survey |
|
Archaeologists carry out building recording to find out about the history and date of a building and to discover the changes that have been made to it over time.
A building recording survey usually involves taking photographs and making detailed drawings of both the inside and outside of the building. Archaeologists have to measure the building and its features very carefully.
Archaeologists use the photographs and drawings to record details such as the types of building materials, the different phases of the building, and evidence for what it was used for. See also field survey.
