1 A brooch and coins found in the "Racehorse Field" in, or before, 1991. The method of recovery was unrecorded, and the grid reference given was SP125513.
2 Two coins of the 2nd and 3rd centuries found in October 1994 at SP125513. The method of recovery was not recorded.

The Roman period in Britain began in 43 AD when a Roman commander called Aulus Plautius invaded the south coast, near Kent. There were a series of skirmishes with the native Britons, who were defeated. In the months that followed, more Roman troops arrived and slowly moved westwards and northwards.
