Summary A gasometer, a storage tank for gas which includes a meter, is shown on the 1906 6" map. Reasearch carried out by Barford Heritage group suggests that the gas was methane derived from animal waste. They further note that, if so, it would appear to be the only recorded methane plant in warwickshire. It is marked as disused on the 1926 6" OS map indicating that it has went out of use at some point prior to the production of this map.
