1The southern stone wall of a substantial east-west aligned building, of possible medieval-post-medieval date, was recorded during archaeological evaluation off Little Park, Southam. The building measured at least 10m wide by 15.5m long. At least one butress was identified, of clasped type, and a possible blocked entranceway was recorded, on the western side of the building.

The Medieval period begins in 1066 AD.
This was the year that the Normans, led by William the Conqueror (1066 – 1087), invaded England and defeated Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings in East Sussex.
