Summary The site of a windmill which was built during the Imperial period. It was later converted to a steam mill. It was situated at windmill House, 1km northeast of Shrewley Common.

Source Number  

1 Brick tower mill called 'Justice'. Built late C18. Cylindrical tower of three storeys and iron-covered cap with tail extension for luffing wheel and chain; four common sails, mostly wooden machinery and two pairs of stones. Ceased work by sail c1896 but continued by steam for some years. Sails removed 1898. tower and machinery dismantled 1949.
2 OS 1st edition (1887) shows what appears to be an active Windmill (corn)
3 Marked as Windmill (disused) on OS 2nd edition (1905)
4 Marked on OS mapping in 1955 but no longer marked on OS mapping by 1967 which suggests between these dates it has been removed entirely

period Imperial 1751 AD to 1914 AD (end of the 18th century AD to the beginning of the 20th century AD)

This period comes after the Post Medieval period and before the modern period and starts with beginning of the Industrial Revolution in 1750.
