Summary The site of a footbridge, which is marked on a tithe map of 1843. The sandstone supports under the bridge may be earlier than the present modern structure, which is 100m southeast of the church at Ashow.

Source Number  

1 A footbridge from Ashow village over the Avon to Bericote Farm is shown on an 1843 Tithe Apportionment.
2 There is still a bridge at this site, modern, of metal and concrete, but the sandstone supports may be earlier. Traces of sandstone on sides of the footpath may indicate there was a wider road leading up to the bridge.

The details of individual archaeological sites and findspots were written on record cards. These record cards were used until the 1990s, when their details were entered on to a computerised system. This period comes after the Post Medieval period and before the modern period and starts with beginning of the Industrial Revolution in 1750. It includes the second part of the Hannoverian period (1714 – 1836) and the Victorian period (1837 – 1901). The Imperial period ends with the start of the First World War in 1914.
