Summary The site of a railway signal box that was built during the Imperial period. It is marked on the Ordnance Survey map of 1923. It was situated 300m east of the Sports Ground, Hillmorton, Rugby.

1 Signal box marked on 1923 map.
2 A brick and timber Signal box was located to the south of the platform of Hillmorton Station (Rugby Central) between the main line and the siding into the goods yard to the west of the station. The Signal box was not located to the east of the main line as shown on the plan for the proposed station.

This period comes after the Post Medieval period and before the modern period and starts with beginning of the Industrial Revolution in 1750. It includes the second part of the Hannoverian period (1714 – 1836) and the Victorian period (1837 – 1901). The Imperial period ends with the start of the First World War in 1914.
