Description

Source Number

1 A survey of the western corner of the meadow where there is an unnatural angulation in the stream, and an artificially levelled area adjacent to it extending about 10m and bounded by a shallow bank not more than 50cm. There is no evidence for any former structure, and nothing in early maps or documents to suggest its purpose. An ancient ash tree stands inside the stream's sharp bend. The ridge and furrow of the earlier arable farming survives in the meadow.
