Letter from Hagger, 1807

 

 

This small collection of letters was received by Jeffrey Bevington Lowe (1774-1864) from his brothers and sisters and their spouses, 1803-1849. They tell us about many events and activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This letter is from Jeffery's brother, Hagger, a Southwark business man, dated 25th February 1807. It refers to Hagger's pleasure on the abolition of the Slave trade after he attended the House of Commons debate. He commented that only 16 out of 229 voted against abolition and that many did not vote at all. [reference CR2926/4]
