The National Mapping Programme (NMP)
The National Mapping Programme (NMP), funded by English Heritage, is part of a nationwide project to comprehensively map archaeological data from aerial photographs held in national and local collections. An element of NMP work was built into the aggregates assessment, in order to enhance understanding of the nature, quality and chronology of archaeology of the known and potential aggregate producing areas in Warwickshire. This work resulted in over 120 new records of archaeological sites being created within the HER and 30 existing records enhanced.
